# Getting Started

## What is nOversight for my iPhone?

nOversight is an app that lets you see and understand how your Apple device experiences Wi-Fi, using just your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Instead of relying on signal bars or router settings, nOversight shows real, device-level Wi-Fi behaviour as you move around. This makes it easy to spot weak areas, understand why Wi-Fi feels slow, and validate improvements.

No additional hardware is required.

## Who is nOversight for?

nOversight is designed for anyone who wants visibility into real Wi-Fi behaviour.

* **Home users** use nOversight to find weak spots, dead zones, and performance issues.
* **Professionals** use it to validate user experience, analyse roaming behaviour, and understand interference or congestion.

The same app works for both — depth increases as you explore more features.

***

## Supported Devices

### iPhone & iPad

* iOS / iPadOS 17 or later
* Live signal strength, link rate, interference indicators, AR overlays, and walk-test maps

### Mac

* macOS 14 or later
* Displays live Wi-Fi data streamed from an iPhone
* Provides deeper technical insight such as roaming decisions and performance behaviour

> nOversight does not read Wi-Fi data directly from the Mac itself.\
> All live data originates from the iPhone.

## How nOversight Works

nOversight visualises what the device itself is experiencing, not what the network is configured to deliver.
